Eastman Chemical Co. has introduced SolusTM Performance Additives for VOC-compliant waterborne and high-solids solventborne systems.
Engineered for low-VOC systems, the Solus performance additive family can offer faster dry-to-touch time; excellent anti-sag behavior; a wider window of polishability; improved gloss after polishing; and ease of sanding in automotive, industrial maintenance, aerospace, and cabinetry/furniture applications.
The proprietary technology behind Solus performance additives leverages Eastman’s chemistry expertise in order to meet diverse customer needs based on region, end-use applications, and environmental conditions within the manufacturing facility, refinish shop, or for field-applied coatings.
While Eastman has historically collaborated closely and productively with its customers, Eastman’s innovative new approach – working with customers to identify specific Solus performance additives based on the needs of the market – demonstrates Eastman’s commitment to the industry and to delivering meaningful solutions.
Eastman’s Solus 2100 is commercially available in Europe, North America and Asia. Further products are slated to be introduced in 2009 and beyond based on customer feedback.
