BASF Corp. has announced the
availability of Lupranate 280 Isocyanate for MDI-based foam. The resulting foams provide excellent quality
and performance, and have intrinsic fire-retardant qualities.
“Lupranate 280 Isocyanate is
unique because it provides the manufacturer a high-quality foam that passes
California Technical Bulletin 117* without the addition of separate flame retardants,”
said John Maloney, business manager, Polyurethanes Division at BASF. ”In addition, Lupranate 280 is significantly
slower to discolor than foams with added fire retardants.”
Manufacturing using
Lupranate 280 is compatible with much of today's existing equipment, processes
and production conditions.
BASF Corp. is a Diamond
Sponsor of the 2009 CPI Polyurethane Technical Conference and will introduce
Lupranate 280 Isocyanate at this event, which will take place Oct. 5-8 at the
Gaylord National Hotel and Convention Center in Fort Washington, MD.

presented by this or any other material under actual fire conditions.
