LORD Corp. recently announced that its Indianapolis, Ind., manufacturing plant received the Indiana Governor’s Workplace Safety Award in the category of Internal Outreach and Education for advancing occupational safety and health. The award reportedly recognizes companies for implementing best practices to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses and those organizations that make safety and health a top priority. The recipient companies were judged on safety performance, training effectiveness, strength of the communication processes and employee engagement. Companies qualified by being in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal statutes and regulations.

The 2013 Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards are the product of a partnership between government, business and safety leaders: the Indiana Department of Labor on behalf of the governor, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, and the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers
