The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) recently announced the availability of “The World of Glue: An Investigation of Adhesives,” an instructional unit to educate elementary school students on the common properties of adhesives and the science of polymers. The lesson plan was developed in partnership with Elmer’s®Products Inc. and DPNA International, with an additional promotional video contributed by H.B. Fuller. The World of Glue lesson plan and promotional video can be found at the ASC’s educational website.

“We are pleased to work with the Marketing teams at Elmer’s, DPNA International and H.B. Fuller to design this program, and are proud to host the information on our award-winning educational platform—adhesives.org,” said Matthew E. Croson, president of the ASC. “Adhesives and sealants literally touch everything a student comes into contact with from the time they wake up to the time they go to sleep, and the educational materials we have put together with Elmer’s and DPNA really tell that story, while also highlighting the science behind adhesives.”

The World of Glue is part of Elmer’s Teachers Club, a free online community designed to support educators with tips, projects, lessons and more. DPNA International reportedly provided the idea for the development of the coursework, and H.B. Fuller contributed a video that explains the innovation and importance of the adhesives industry. The ASC edited the material and is hosting the information on the www.adhesives.org website.
