The symposium program lineup for the 43rd Annual International Waterborne, High‐Solids and Powder Coatings has been announced. The symposium will be held Jan. 31‐Feb. 5 at the New Orleans Marriott. The symposium will start with short courses, followed by the technology showcase exhibit hall, Feb. 2‐4, and our main technical symposium Feb. 3‐5.

Two short courses will take place prior to the technical symposium: a beginning short course in the Fundamentals of Coatings, as well as and the Science of Formulating, and a more advanced short course in Reformulating to Waterborne Coatings.

The conference is lined up with technical sessions, with topics including waterborne, nanotube, bio‐based, academia, corrosion, additives, and a general session for all other talks.

The 2016 Plenary speaker is Kurt Olson, fellow, coatings research and development, from PPG Industries. Olson will be speaking on Wednesday morning. Following Olson will be the keynote speaker, John Gilbert, senior vice president, research and development, BEHR Process Corp. An expert advisory panel will finish the opening ceremony.

The annual Sidney Lauren Memorial Lecture will be given by Kristen Blankenship, AGC Chemicals Americas, and winner of the Siltech Best Paper Award for Innovation at the 2015 Waterborne Symposium.
