The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) recently announced it is launching an innovation oriented award program in 2017. The working title of the program is “ASC’s Innovation in Application” award, and is being designed to highlight the use of an adhesive or sealant technology in a new or novel application.

“The ASC Innovation in Application award will recognize and honor the use of an industry technology that has impact in a new or different way in order to promote the innovation orientation of our industry,” said Matthew E. Croson, president. “Innovation is one of five key strategies making up the council’s long-range plan, and this new program will focus on promoting our industry while recognizing one of its members.”

The award, to be overseen by the ASC Membership Committee, is currently in product development. The committee is reviewing how to approach this new program, and will reportedly be working toward a goal of announcing it in October and awarding its first recipient at the Spring Convention and Expo in 2017.
