To compile the ASI Top 25, we posted a survey on our website requesting information such as annual revenue and other details. In addition, we reached out to companies in last year’s report and combined the results with additional information from company websites, annual reports, press releases and company contacts to finalize the rankings.

To complement the ASI Top 25, Andy Hinz, managing director at Grace Matthews Inc., has written a review and forecast of the 2015-2016 mergers and acquisitions activity. He writes that, among adhesive and sealant formulators, “We’ve counted 29 deals in 2014 and 37 in 2015; with 21 so far this year (through June), it appears that 2016 may be on track to be a record year. More than half of the companies in the ASI Top 25 completed transactions in 2015, with several (e.g., Sika, RPM, H.B.
