The global hot melt adhesive market was valued at $6 billion in 2015 and is projected to reach $9.44 billion by 2024 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.2% from 2016 to 2024.
To achieve the desired level of release, humidity resistance, hydrophobicity and other properties, most release coatings today are based on silicone and/or fluorochemical technologies. Fluorochemicals provide hydrophobicity, an important release coating feature that drives performance.
Partnering with a full-service converter can increase process efficiencies.

Sourcing, specifying, and purchasing adhesive tapes and materials can be a stressful process. You have literally millions of different tapes to choose from, and finding a solution for your application can be time consuming. Full-service converters can be your ideal partner to save sourcing time, lower material costs, reduce SKUs, increase production output and enhance the end product.
Adhesive coating is an important and necessary step in pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) construction. It’s also one of the least-discussed aspects of the PSA manufacturing process and, as of late, is becoming one of the most environmentally sustainable.
We have a customer who wants to use an adhesive-backed expanded PTFE gasket strip on a steel substrate. However, the customer wants to be able to remove and reapply the strip without losing adhesion. We do not make ePTFE gasket strips, but we have imported some samples for the customer to test. They are not satisfied with the results. I must admit, I am not surprised. Is there such a thing as a PSA that can be removed and reapplied a number of times without losing adhesion?
