Albert Invent Launches Subsidiary in Japan

news on internet screen
September 12, 2025

Albert Invent recently announced the launch of its Japanese subsidiary, Albert Invent Japan K.K., as part of the company’s continued global expansion. This investment reflects Albert’s deep commitment to supporting innovation in Japan’s world-class chemical and materials industry, which is the fourth largest in the world and has long been recognized for its technical excellence and scientific leadership.

Albert Invent Japan K.K. will be headquartered in Tokyo and staffed by a local team of Japanese experts in chemical and materials R&D, software, and customer engagement. Albert already serves a substantial number of researchers in Japan working at multi-national companies. The new subsidiary aims to provide Japanese corporations with full support across use case development, pilot implementation, platform onboarding, and technical services — all delivered locally. To lead this new entity, Albert Invent has appointed Dr. Larry Meixner as president.

“I am thrilled to be joining Albert Invent as President of Albert Invent Japan K.K. I have worked closely with Japanese researchers for many years, and their innovation is second to none. I have long believed that digital transformation is the key to accelerating the next era of Japanese chemical innovation,” said Dr. Meixner. “Digital transformation means more than just adding another AI tool. Albert offers a unique, integrated solution that I believe is unparalleled in the industry.”

Dr. Meixner’s career is deeply intertwined with Japan, including seven years as managing corporate executive officer, chief innovation officer, and chief technology officer of Mitsubishi Chemical Group. Prior to that, he was Deputy CTO of Sharp Corp., while overseeing Sharp’s international R&D organization. Like the majority of Albert’s senior leadership, Dr. Meixner began his career at the bench, conducting hands-on R&D in chemistry and materials science at leading global corporations. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Stanford University.

“We built Albert Invent to deliver a modern system of record for the chemistry industry that enables the most sophisticated AI for material science, transforming laboratories and putting the tools to create the next generation of incredible products into chemists’ hands. We are thrilled to launch Albert Invent Japan K.K., and to welcome Dr. Larry Meixner to lead the organization,” said Nick Talken, cofounder and CEO, Albert Invent.

Albert Invent is expanding rapidly in the United States and Europe, accelerating innovation for global companies including Henkel, Chemours, Nouryon, and more. Trained on over 15 million molecular structures, Albert’s Breakthrough platform enables chemists to develop safer and higher-performing products in a fraction of the time. Underpinning the platform is a powerful AI engine that centralizes data management, streamlines manufacturing, automates workflows, and enables real-time inventory management. Albert’s leading customers have seen a 50% increase in overall speed to market for products, as well as a 25% increase in chemist productivity, helping to optimize expertise and costs.

With the formation of Albert Invent Japan K.K., the company will bring this same capability to Japanese innovators — enabling domestic Japanese companies to compete at the highest levels of speed, precision, and innovation.
