The ChemQuest Group has appointed three new directors: Kalyan Sehanobish, Ph.D.; John DeJoy; and Mitch Magee. ChemQuest reports that the appointment bolsters the group’s R&D and operations management expertise.
Sehanobish has built a proven track record in R&D over his more than 40-year career in the thermoplastics industry, driving profitable, sustainable business growth and delivering breakthrough innovations. A Six Sigma-certified Green Belt, he spent much of his career in various research and technology roles of increasing responsibility with Dow Chemical Co. Sehanobish holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Jadavpur University, as well as a doctorate in macromolecular science from Case Western University.
“Over the course of my career, I was able to build 30 years of experience in a rapidly evolving materials company,” said Sehanobish. “I am excited to bring my skills in polymer product and applications development to ChemQuest.”
DeJoy has a rich background in manufacturing and operations. In roles such as plant manager, regional vice president, and senior vice president for manufacturing and engineering with organizations including Sherwin-Williams Co. and Behr Paint Co., he was instrumental in ensuring optimal operations, developing operational best practices, and for the creation of several greenfield automated facilities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Cleveland State University.
“After nearly 40 years in the chemical/paint industry, ChemQuest and I are a logical fit,” said DeJoy. “I look forward to helping clients achieve their goals and providing insight going forward.”
Magee is a manufacturing executive with over 35 years of leadership experience in global manufacturing operations. He has a proven track record of success in advanced technology integration, process optimization, and people development across multi-site operations for organizations such as PPG Industries and PPG Aerospace. Magee earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Allegheny College, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
“Manufacturing operations is my passion,” Magee said. “After spending 35 years from the front lines to the corporate suite in the coatings, sealants, and specialty chemicals industry, I am looking forward to the challenges of helping clients improve their processes, bottom lines, and engagement.”
“I’m thrilled that Kalyan, John, and Mitch have joined the team,” said Daniel Murad, ChemQuest CEO. “They are all deeply knowledgeable and experienced in their respective fields. I look forward to seeing the positive impact they each impart in support of our global clientele.”
