Poly-U Thread Tape from Fluoramics is a PFAS-free thread-sealing tape designed for plumbing, industrial, and mechanical applications. Made from polyurethane rather than PTFE, it was developed to provide reliable sealing performance in demanding environments, including applications involving harsh chemicals and oxygen service. The company recently received patent (US 12,624,778 B1) for the product. On the company’s announcement about the patent, it published a quote from Gregg Reick, inventor of Poly-U Thread Tape and president of Fluoramics, “This patent recognition validates years of research, testing, and commitment to creating an alternative sealing solution.”

According to Fluoramics, the product has been tested for oxygen service at pressures of 1,500 psi and 6,000 psi in accordance with ASTM G72 standards, demonstrating its suitability for challenging operating conditions. The patent recognizes the proprietary design and engineering innovations behind the technology.
