John S. Gaither has been named president and CEO of Reichhold, Inc. by Reichhold's parent company, Dainippon Ink and Chemicals (DIC). Douglas E. Frey has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Reichhold. Gaither and Frey are both polymer industry veterans and former Reichhold executives. Gaither spent 32 years with Reichhold before leaving the company in 1998. He served in a number of senior management positions including president of three different Reichhold divisions, COO and Chairman of European Operations. Since Leaving Reichhold, Gaither has worked with several young technology companies in Research Triangle Park, NC. Doug Frey spent 17 years with Reichhold before leaving the company in 2001. During his previous service to the company, Frey held positions in manufacturing, sales and marketing, and was president of the former Emulsion Polymers Division. He also spent three years as president of Reichhold's subsidiary in Brazil. "Doug Frey and I have worked together for many years," Gaither said, "and we look forward to rejoining Reichhold and providing the leadership to move the company through these challenging times of industrial globalization and consolidation."
