APOLLO ADHESIVES PRESENTED WITH QUEENS AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE

Apollo Adhesives, Tamworth, Staffordshire, UK, was recently presented with the prestigious Queens Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category in recognition of their groundbreaking and pioneering work within the adhesives industry, providing adhesive solutions for everything from building materials to bras. The Queens Award for Enterprise is the most prestigious corporate accolade a UK business can win and recognizes outstanding and continued innovation. Apollo earned the award specifically for their work with a revolutionary solvent-free, contact adhesive by the name of Fastack that enables manufacturers to cut production time considerably and increase profits. "We are extremely proud of this award, as it pays tribute to the pioneering technologies we have developed for use in the building and manufacturing industries," managing director Alan Jones said. "The award is a great accolade to the fantastic team at Apollo."

DAIKIN NAMES PRODUCT SPECIALIST, MANAGER

Leisl Lim has joined Daikin America Inc., Orangeburg, NY, as a product specialist, PTFE. A native of Singapore, Lim recently earned an MBA from the University of Texas with specialization in supply chain management. Tim Duzick has also joined Daikin as product manager for all fluoropolymer melt product lines. Duzick has over 15 years of experience in fluoropolymer technology and marketing, and holds a B.S. in engineering and an M.E. in chemical engineering from Widener University.

GRACO ANNOUNCES PLAN TO CLOSE PALM CITY OPERATION BY YEAR'S END

Graco Inc., Minneapolis, has announced plans to close its Palm City, Florida, operation by the end of 2005. Graco acquired this operation as part of the Liquid Control Corp. acquisition completed earlier this year. The operations in Palm City will be consolidated with similar businesses in Lakewood, New Jersey and North Canton, OH. This action is not anticipated to have a material impact on 2005 net earnings.

LAMART CORP. ANNOUNCES NEW APPOINTMENTS

Lamart Corp., Clifton, NJ, has appointed Jonathan Hirsh manager of Technical Services, reporting directly to the company president. Hirsh will assume responsibility for maintaining R&D functions, as well as managing new product-development efforts. The company has also named Ed Hainsworth to the post of Southeastern Sales Representative, managing sales in a territory that encompasses the southeastern U.S. Hainsworth brings with him 30 years of experience in industrial sales of paper and adhesives.

TOTAL FINALIZES GOODYEAR ACQUISITION

Through subsidiaries Cray Valley and Sartomer, Total, Paris, has finalized its acquisition of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company's petroleum hydrocarbon resin business, which was first announced in June. With this transaction, Cray Valley/Sartomer acquires the Wingtack® family of tackifying resins, which enjoys a strong reputation in the industry and reported sales of approximately $80 million in 2004.
