HENKEL ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC APPOINTMENTS FOR ASIA-PACIFIC OPERATIONS

The electronics group of Henkel, Irvine, CA, has appointed Dr. Tilo Weiss to the position of regional manager, Asia-Pacific. Weiss will be based in Henkel's Shanghai facility and will have management responsibility for sales, marketing, and technical service. Roger Dieu also recently joined the electronics group as director of Global Account Business Development. Prior to assuming his current role, Dieu was responsible for the direction of the Greater China business and management of the region. Finally, Dr. Gary Shi has been named technical director of Henkel's Yantai, China, facility. In his new position, Shi will be responsible for the expansion of Henkel's research, development and engineering functions to further support the Asia-Pacific customer base.

HUNTSMAN LAUNCHES NEW WOOD ADHESIVE IN INDIA

Huntsman Advanced Materials, Salt Lake City, has announced plans to enter India's PVA segment with the launch of a new product designed for wood bonding, Araldite Karpenter. This launch puts the company in direct competition with market leader Fevicol, which has a market share above 60%. While Araldite Karpenter would be made available at multiple retail outlets across India, the company also plans to invest heavily in marketing and advertising. It has signed Bollywood actor Rajhpal Yadav to endorse the product.
