HENKEL: Die Attach Paste

Adding to its portfolio of productivity enhancing die attach materials, Henkel has developed and made commercially available Hysol®QMI708TM, a new die attach paste for use with copper leadframes. Designed for today’s challenging small footprint devices, Hysol QMI708 is a high-performance die attach paste that has been formulated specifically for small die on copper leadframes. The innovative material has been developed to attach die 2.5 mm x 2.5 mm and smaller in QFN and SOIC packages using copper finished leadframes.

Hysol QMI708 is highly conductive and exhibits extremely low bondjoint resistance as compared to competitive materials. This characteristic minimizes energy drainage and, therefore, produces a more efficient package. Another key differentiator of the material is its superior dispensability. When tested against competitive materials, Hysol QMI708 displayed 30-40% better dispensability. The material dispenses quickly with no tailing, is very simple and quick to set-up, and allows for an extremely wide dispense window.

I&J FISNAR: Dispensing Robot

Model I&J7400 is the largest dispensing robot in this company’s current desktop robot series with a working area 15.75" x 15.75" (400 mm x 400 mm) and a footprint depth of less than 30 inches (760 mm) for mounting on an industrial workbench. POWER ADHESIVES: Hot-Melt Applicators

This company’s new Tec 6300 and 7300 high-output industrial pneumatic spray hot-melt applicators are serious alternatives to traditional hot-melt application systems, eliminating expensive bulk melt tanks and fragile heater hoses. The Tec system consists of a handheld applicator with a throughput of 4.2 to 5.25 kilos per hour. A 3 m airline and electrical cable are supplied, which provides the operator with an easier-to-use and lighter alternative to the conventional heavy insulated hose associated with bulk melters. The applicator heats up in just 10 minutes, and the unit’s powerful heating device quickly melts the adhesive on demand once the trigger is pulled. Output is controlled by adjusting the air pressure, and spray pattern is varied by using a rear-mounted control knob.

PRES-ON: Rubber Tape

Pres-On, a leading supplier and innovator in adhesive products, has introduced Pres-Bond P10600 Series cork and nitrile rubber composite tape. Versatile and rugged, it is ideal for a variety of OEM applications, from marine and RV flooring to padding and cushioning of store fixtures, furniture, and consumer appliances. It also is excellent as weather-stripping for wood and metal window sash.

The tape features an environmentally stable nitrile base material combined with a sponged synthetic cork that exhibits medium compressibility and heavy-duty resistance to oils, fuel and solvents. An acrylic adhesive provides powerful initial adhesion and a permanent bond on fiberglass, wood, plastic, and painted surfaces.

Pres-Bond P10600 tape is available in thicknesses of 1/32”, 1/16” and 1/8”, and in lengths of 60 to 100 feet. Standard width is 57 inches, but custom widths and shapes can be specially ordered.
