MACtac® Printing Products recently secured Underwriters Laboratories (UL) recognition for inks used with its durable film product line, including 3.4-mil white vinyl, 2.6-mil white polypropylene, 2-mil white polyester and 2-mil bright silver polyester labels. Converters using UL-recognized MACtac products now have pre-approval for flexo inks and thermal transfer ribbon. Pre-approval means no new testing is required-only a paper transfer that can be submitted through an Internet portal, via email or phone.
“Developing products that meet the latest industry regulations that help our customers enter new markets faster is crucial,” said Kim Hensley, product manager. “Upfront UL recognition reduces converters’ cost and time spent qualifying substrates from UL.”
