The 2018 American Coatings Show and Conference takes place April 9-11 in Indianapolis, while Miami will host the ASC Annual Spring Convention and Expo from April 23-25.

Travel season is approaching! We’re previewing two key industry events in this issue: the American Coatings Show and Conference and the ASC Annual Spring Convention and Expo. This year, the 2018 American Coatings Show and Conference takes place April 9-11 in Indianapolis. At the last event, which was held in 2016, more than 9,100 industry attendees and 559 exhibitors shared knowledge about recent developments in raw materials, laboratory and production equipment, testing and measuring equipment, and services for the coatings industry. From April 23-25, some 700 adhesives and sealants industry leaders from 300 companies are expected to attend the ASC Annual Spring Convention and Expo in Miami. The three-day event will include concurrent technical sessions focusing on business development and market trends, regulations, processing, and new/advanced technology applications. Sonntag, division manager with ProSys Servo Filling Systems, explains in this article how high-accuracy filling equipment and new automation can improve production operations. “One of the most underrated and miscalculated factors in production is filling accuracy and its significant impact on ROI and annual savings,” he writes. “High-viscosity materials such as sealants and adhesives can be difficult to pump, fill/dose accurately, and maintain repeatability due to their unique rheological properties and flow characteristics.”
