Chromaflo Technologies recently announced that Smita Shelar has been appointed Innovation and Technology team leader. In this position, she will be responsible for systematically improving existing product performance, developing and launching new innovative technologies, and driving Chromaflo’s alternate raw materials (ARMs) program. Through the creation of technical reports, Shelar will provide technical support to both internal and external customers.

Shelar brings to her new role a combination of skills and experiences in lab management. While at FP Pigments, she was integral in introducing a new product to the market and facilitating the understanding of its value through trials, customer visits, and benefits.

“Thanks to our recent growth, we decided it was the right time to add more support to our innovation and technology department,” said Brij Mohal, Ph.D., vice president, Innovation and Technology. “Smita’s unique experience in lab management and product development made her the ideal candidate for the position. We’re excited to see her leadership in the coming months.”

Prior to serving as technical sales manager at FP Pigments, Shelar was assistant technical service manager at Dow Chemicals, where she was responsible for managing the lab, developing test procedures, and conducting root cause analysis activities. She earned a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Mumbai in India.
