Mactac® Industrial Tapes recently announced the launch of MacBond® FBR899 series tapes, a line of industrial tapes designed to adhere to nearly any surface. The product line features MacBond FBR899 adhesive, which the company reports offers the highest-tack rubber available, as well as an excellent blend of adhesion and peel. It has exceptional low-surface energy (LSE) performance and superior adhesion to most open- and closed-cell foams, as well as corrugated materials. In addition, it forms aggressive bonds to textiles and textured surfaces.

“Mactac’s MacBond FBR899 adhesive was developed as an internal innovation to meet market needs for a robust, high-performance adhesive that could be used in a variety of applications,” said Janet Page, senior Marketing manager for Mactac Performance Adhesives. “It works on just about any and every surface imaginable and is a true ‘Goldilocks’ product—not too firm, not too soft, and gives the best blend of performance available in a rubber adhesive.”

MacBond FBR899 series tapes are reportedly ideal for the following applications:

  • Fabrication, gaskets, and seals
  • Packaging and corrugated
  • Point-of-purchase (POP) and display assembly
  • Acoustic tiling, insulation, and foam bonding
  • Building and construction
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) and face shield assembly

The tapes are offered in transfer adhesive and double-coated film form with a 0.5-mil PET carrier. Designed to meet every type of converting and laminating process, MacBond FBR899 series tapes are available with a wide variety of release liners. They feature a two-year shelf life.
