The Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) recently announced that applications for the Polyurethane Innovation Award are now being accepted through June 15, 2021. The award is a top honor in the polyurethanes industry and recognizes companies and individuals whose vision and perseverance bring new innovative, life-enhancing products, technologies, and initiatives to the marketplace.

"Complications from COVID-19 put a pause on the Innovation Award last year, but we are excited to continue the tradition of honoring the top pioneers in the polyurethanes industry," said Lee Salamone, CPI senior director. "Bringing to market innovative technologies and products doesn't just happen overnight; it requires years of brainstorming, hard work, and perseverance. Then, there are those who go above and beyond to bring us remarkable, life-enhancing practices, products, and innovations. CPI looks forward to recognizing those whose work helps create a better today and sustainable tomorrow."

All entries for the 2021 Award are required to represent new innovations that have not been previously submitted for the Innovation Award. Eligible innovations include finished products, chemistries, initiatives, training or education programs, or processes and processing equipment that have entered the market for the first time between June 16, 2018, and June 15, 2021. Companies or individuals must submit an application no later than 5 p.m. EDT on June 15, 2021.

CPI will present the Innovation Award at the conclusion of the 2021 Polyurethanes Technical Conference, which is currently scheduled to take place at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Denver, Colo., on October 5-7, 2021.
