Last week, readers were most interested in Joseph Binder being named the recipient of the 2022 Carl Dahlquist Award: “The Pressure Sensitive Tape Council (PSTC) recently named Joseph Binder, Ph.D., R&D polymer synthesis chemist for Dow Adhesives, the recipient of the 2022 Carl Dahlquist Award. Binder received the award for his paper presentation at the inaugural Tape Week, which was held May 2-5, 2022. PSTC will recognize Binder at Tape Week 2023, which will be held May 4-7, 2023, at the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
“Binder’s paper, ‘Designed Polymer Particle Architectures for Waterborne Acrylic Pressure Sensitive Adhesives,’ identifies opportunities to improve the adhesion/cohesion balance of waterborne pressure-sensitive adhesives. He joined Dow Adhesives R&D in 2015 as a polymer synthesis chemist.”
