On Wednesday and Thursday, learning theaters on the show floor will give attendees additional learning opportunities. These half-hour sessions will cover many topics of interest to manufacturing professionals, such as Automation 101: The Starting Point for Robot Automation; NAI Vision + Smart Manufacturing: Intelligent Solutions, No Programming; Elements of Continuous Improvement:  Clarity, Stability, and Supporting Systems; and  Why More Data Won’t Fix Your Shop Floor — But Faster Insights Will, to name a few.

Quality professionals attending the show will benefit from ASQ Presentations, which will also be featured on the show floor and will cover variety of topics, including career growth through black belt to fellow certification, integrated tooling solutions helping to enhance quality, the 150th anniversary of BIPM, and accelerating a culture of quality with ASQ training.  

The year, the keynote address will be given by Joanna Cooper, general manager at Daimler Truck North America. Cooper will discuss the challenges she experienced while working to transform a complex and technology-driven manufacturing environment. Using her personal experiences in a high-stress manufacturing setting, she will outline how digital tools are helping to redefine decision making, team engagement, and operational decisions.

Exhibits

The exhibit floor promises to highlight hundreds of companies with products from many parts of the assembly process. For attendees who want a more focused experience with the show floor, guided tours will be conducted by editors of ASSEMBLY Magazine. Offered Wednesday morning and afternoon and Thursday morning, the tours give participants a chance to see key exhibits and discuss different products and solutions at each stop. Topics for these guided tours include fastening tools, manufacturing software, and automated assembly systems. ASSEMBLY magazine editors will lead these tours, where at each stop, attendees hear directly from experts, see live demonstrations, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of how these solutions can impact your operations.

Networking

The Assembly Show offers several opportunities for attendees to meet with colleagues and clients in a casual atmosphere. The annual Welcome Reception & Taste of Rosemont will kick off the event on Tuesday evening. Taking place in the exhibit hall, this staple of the show allows attendees to sample local fare and receive a sneak peek at the exhibits, tools, and displays. Additional networking events include Oktoberfest Networking Reception on Wednesday evening and the Morning Mingle & Breakfast on Thursday morning.
