Daniel Murad, president and CEO of The ChemQuest Group, was officially inducted into the Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) Hall of Fame during an October 21 ceremony at the ASC’s Executive Leadership Conference in St. Pete Beach, Florida.
Murad has been an active member and partner of the ASC for four decades, drawing on his extensive adhesive and sealant market knowledge, experience, and insights to help drive long-term industry growth. His support of the industry has been multi-dimensional, including work related to:
- Developing winning strategies for more than 100 companies
- Enabling key mergers that have made the adhesive industry stronger and more profitable
- Educating the financial community regarding the industry’s value
- Supporting feedstock suppliers to identify new applications for their new innovative polymers/additives
- Guiding organizations to improve their operational excellence
Over 20 years ago, Murad recognized a lack of awareness among design engineers regarding structural adhesives. He saw a huge opportunity for growth and acted to develop and guide the concept for the Building the Industry (BTI) program, which grew to include more than 40 leading companies working together to expand opportunities for the adhesive industry. The creation of the BTI — and the step-change innovations the group developed in terms of research, education, and communication — brought a significant and impactful shift in mentality among industry players. The resulting activities translated to widespread growth in adhesive market share compared to traditional fasteners.
“Congratulations to Dan on his induction to the ASC Hall of Fame,” said Roy Seroussi, investment partner, Arsenal Capital Partners. “There is no other person I know who has dedicated the time, focus, and positive intent in promoting the future of the adhesives and sealants market globally. In the constantly evolving adhesives and sealants market, there has been one steady thought leader — Dan Murad — with his relentless effort in connecting markets and technologies in the sector and being a steward of change.”
“I am immensely grateful and humbled to join my fellow inductees in the ASC Hall of Fame,” Murad said. “I have met and worked with hundreds of amazing people in this industry over the years, and their commitment to their companies and to adhesives and sealants as a whole is inspirational. Likewise, I have also enjoyed working with the ASC, whose tireless efforts have been immensely impactful to the industry. Thank you to the ASC for this incredible honor.”
The 2025 Adhesive and Sealant Hall of Fame inductees, which in addition to Murad include Michael Klonne and Alan Longstreet, were originally announced by the ASC on September 25. According to the ASC, “The Hall of Fame honors outstanding individuals who, through their career in the adhesive and sealant industry, have made significant contributions to the betterment of the industry ASC represents. These industry ‘giants’ are well known throughout the industry for their substantial commitment to it.”
