DELO: Bio-based Multi-purpose Adhesive

Consisting primarily of bio-based components, DELO PHOTOBOND SJ4192 is characterized by excellent moisture resistance as well as high flexibility and peel strength. As a multi-purpose adhesive, it is suitable for metal, glass, and plastics and can help achieve sustainability goals in industries such as automotive.
The adhesive consists of 62% renewable raw materials. Precursors from corn and castor oil make up a large portion of the resin components. The bio-based formulation conserves finite resources while delivering excellent performance.
DELO reports that comprehensive tests confirm the new adhesive surpasses its non-bio-based predecessor product in many mechanical properties. It is characterized by improved plastic adhesion, particularly on polycarbonate surfaces, which are used, for example, in frame and housing bonds for navigation displays in cars. In addition, it offers low outgassing as well as high long-term moisture resistance while maintaining excellent flexibility — on plastics as well as on metal and glass.
Application is typically achieved using needle dispensing. Curing takes place with low CO₂ emissions through UV or visible light in just a few seconds.
DELO PHOTOBOND SJ4192 is the first DELO adhesive where the share of sustainable ingredients exceeds half. The company is already working on expanding its portfolio, including systems with light-moisture and light-heat curing. Learn more at delo-adhesives.com.
