Alemdaroglu Named Business Group Director for IMCD

IMCD N.V. recently announced that Fikri Alemdaroglu, Ph.D., has been appointed business group director for its Synthesis segment. In this role, he will lead the global Synthesis business in defining the strategy for further growth, expanding into new regions while improving customer and supplier intimacy.
“Fikri’s international profile, entrepreneurial spirit and technical expertise coupled with his location in Germany—where many large-scale suppliers and customers are based—will be instrumental to grow IMCD Synthesis Business Group to the next level,” said Frank Schneider, business group director for Coatings & Construction.
“Synthesis Business offers a comprehensive portfolio covering relevant product groups for the manufacturing of various specialty chemicals and polymers,” said Alemdaroglu. “Together with our excellent partners combined with our strong commercial and technical expertise Synthesis business group is instrumental already at very early stages of chemical value chain acting as the ‘catalyst’ enabling both our suppliers and customers to be more successful. Alemdaroglu brings more than 12 years of experience in leading chemical groups like BASF, where he started his career in R&D and moved later to business development. He holds a doctorate in organic chemistry.
