Fedrigoni Self-Adhesives has launched a new film for visual communication and large-format printing that is PVC-free and has a lower environmental impact.

A new polyol (PCD-b-PPG) has been synthesized that has a low viscosity of around 800-3,000 mPa·s (at 25˚C, liquid state) and is transparent due to the use of PCD as an initiator, even after storing for a long duration. The new PCD-b-PPG polyol can be applied to coating applications where transparency is required. In addition, it may contribute to other CASE applications and solvent-free urethane compositions that can take advantage of its low viscosity.

DELO has developed DELO PHOTOBOND UV acrylates for optoelectronics that reportedly enable fast and true-color bonding of holographic films manufactured by Covestro. 

The FLEXcon^® L-59FR series flame-retardant adhesive portfolio, featuring a self-extinguishing, non-halogenated flame-retardant adhesive, has been expanded to include both 2 mil and 4 mil adhesive coat weights as either a transfer tape or coated film.

In a clinical study that lasted several months, the effectiveness of antimicrobial-treated surfaces against hospital pathogens was examined under real-life conditions at the University Hospital Basel in Switzerland. The research team confirmed that a treated adhesive film has 98% effectiveness against microbes.
