The Starkey model 851 de-airing pugmill/extruder is designed for extrusion of adhesives, sealants, rubbers or other plastic materials in R & D, pilot plant, laboratory, testing and production applications. The Starkey 851 features a polyurethane-coated hopper with all other contact surfaces made of stainless steel.

The twin shaft hopper is self-feeding. The pugmill and extruder have separate drives that can be controlled independently. The extruder can be positioned horizontally, as shown, or rotated to extrude vertically. The auger diameter is Ø75 mm with a Ø100 mm vacuum chamber. The hopper size is 250 x 250 x 500 mm. It can accept 1 cu/ft batches or can be fed continuously.

The Starkey 851 is designed with an emphasis on easy cleaning. The major components can be removed with simple hand tools and placed in a standard utility sink. The hopper has removable side panels that expose the feed blades and augers.
