Daubert Chemical recently announced its Daubond^®U8508-10 hot-melt polyurethane adhesive has been approved by UL and Intertek as a recognized component in fire-rated steel. A fully assembled steel door, consisting of an interior foam core adhered to metal on both sides, was submitted for testing by Intertek and UL. The steel door endured two hours at 1,980°F. Everything in the door, including the hinges, handles, foam interior, steel panel and the U8508-10 adhesive, achieved approval as a recognized component.
