The Adhesive and Sealant Council (ASC) has partnered with Industrial Market Insight to create a white paper entitled “Adhesives and Sealants in Battery and Hybrid Electric Vehicles.” According to the ASC, the white paper provides ASC members visibility into market opportunities and growth potential in the electric vehicle (EV) market and the value creation with adhesives in EV and battery electric vehicle (BEV) battery and motor applications.
“Electrification goes hand in hand with lightweighting in order to extend range of EV batteries and vehicles,” said Bashar Kirma, senior manager for Business Development with Henkel Powertrain and e-mobility. “Joining and sealing methods are necessary for these new material substrate and complex component introductions. This white paper will provide a perfect need within the market for outlining opportunities for OEM decision makers that are seeking dissimilar substrate joining options using adhesive and sealing technologies.”
According to Steve Duren, senior director at ASC, “This effort will showcase global applications of adhesives and sealants in hybrid and electric vehicle battery cells, modules, packs and other electric vehicle componentry. This paper will provide an estimated market volume used in the EV markets as well as some of the available types of adhesives used to solve issues like thermal interface bonding and pack and module bonding.”
